TRADEMARKS
A trademark is any sign that can identify products or services on the
market. Such signs can be represented in a graphic manner and comprise,
among other items, words or combinations of words, images, figures,
symbols, graphics, logos, monograms, portraits, labels, emblems and
shields, sounds and odors; letters and numbers; colors (provided that
they are defined by a shape), or a combination of colors.
In the same manner, the shape of a product, its package or wrap can be
registered as a trademark.
DOCUMENTS REQUIRED
a) Trademarks: (Composed of words):
1. Identification of the company applying for the trademark.
2. Name and identification of the company representative.
3. If the applicant is an individual, the person’s identification data.
4. Domicile of the applicant.
5. Indication of the sign or word to be registered as a trademark.
6. Products or services identified by the trademark.

7. Power of Attorney authenticated before a Notary Public. In the case
of powers of attorney granted abroad, they must legalized by Apostille
or, failing that, before the Venezuelan Consulate in the respective
country.
Note: When claiming foreign priority, state the date when the
first application was filed in any of the member countries of the Paris
Convention and send the appropriate document to our firm.
b) Figurative trademarks:
In addition to the above requirements, send to our e-mail address a
sample of the logo or design, in black and white or in color, if that is
the case.
